Dogs become a live test bed for human aging biology

The Dog Aging Project, a long-running community-science study following thousands of pet dogs through their lives, is comparing blood metabolites against lifespan outcomes and finding the same molecules flagged as risky or protective in human longevity research. Because dogs age roughly seven times faster than humans while sharing our homes, food and air, the stakes are whether adjusting these molecules could actually buy healthier years rather than just move a number on a blood test.
