    The iPod puts a thousand songs in your pocket

    Apple unveiled the iPod, a small white music player that could hold a thousand songs and slip into a shirt pocket. It changed how people carried and bought music, and it set Apple on the path to the iPhone six years later. The click wheel became one of the most familiar gadgets of its decade.
