The first voyage around the world is completed
The battered little ship Victoria limped back into a Spanish port, the only one of five vessels to finish the first voyage all the way around the world, three years after setting out. Only a handful of the crew who left were still alive to see home. They had proved, by sailing it, that the seas are one connected ocean wrapping a round planet.
