    Tutankhamun's burial chamber is opened

    In Egypt's Valley of the Kings, archaeologist Howard Carter broke through a sealed doorway into the burial chamber of the pharaoh Tutankhamun, undisturbed for more than three thousand years. The treasures inside gave the world its fullest look at ancient Egypt.
